Tottenham must this afternoon beat Leeds to keep their faint top-four hopes alive.

A Gareth Bale hat-trick against Sheffield United has lifted the mood but Ryan Mason & Co. know leaving Elland Road with anything less than another three points will all but end their Champions League ambitions for another season.

Leeds have a good record against the Premier League’s supposed better sides - taking points of Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United in back to back games before a disappointing defeat at Brighton - and Marcelo Bielsa will be confident of claiming another scalp.

Leeds vs Tottenham is scheduled for a 12.30pm BST kick-off on Saturday, May 8, 2021.

The match will be held behind closed doors at Elland Road.

Leeds skipper Liam Cooper is back in contention after completing a three-game ban following his straight red card in the win at Manchester City last month.

Kalvin Phillips (knee) and Raphinha (thigh) both remain doubtful and will be assessed, while Helder Costa (back) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Tottenham will still be without Ben Davies, with the left-back nursing an ankle injury which has kept him out since the end of March and may not play again this season.

Lucas Moura (knock) and Tanguy Ndombele (muscle) have both trained all week and will be fit for the clash at Elland Road.

Leeds vs Tottenham prediction

Spurs are playing with far more freedom and it’s paying off for Ryan Mason, as evidenced by Gareth Bale’s treble last time out.

Leeds are a far tougher outfit, though, and will boss possession and make plenty of chances against a suspect defence. This should be an entertaining encounter to kick off Saturday’s action, though it will also likely spell the end of Spurs’ top-four hopes.

We’re going for a 2-2 draw.
