Lena Dunham Goes Goth, Dyes Her Hair Black for 'Ghouls Night Out'

Lena Dunham is rocking some "fresh armor."

The Girls creator, 38, revealed in an Instagram post on Thursday, June 6, she transformed her traditional brown hair into a cool jet-black hue.

"The youths say Wednesday, but I’m old enough to know Vampira did it first… My beloved @16arlington for ghouls night out … fresh armor care of @infinitealterity 🦇 ☠️ 🫁🖤," wrote Dunham in the caption.

To show off her new goth-inspired hair color, the actress posed for a photo at the bottom of an outdoor staircase as she gently twirled her hair.

In the comment section, Dunham's celebrity friends praised her new look, including Tinashe, who wrote, "Ok wait the black hair slays." Myha'la Herrold wrote, "Excellent."

Dunham's hair transformation comes nearly one month after she celebrated her 38th birthday.

She marked the special occasion shared Instagram photos of herself with loved ones. writing, "Turning the respectable age of 38 in a sea of love, art and animals. Don’t quit before the miracle, kids 💗🙏."

One of the photos included was a sweet snapshot of her husband, Luis Felber, giving her a kiss. The two were introduced through mutual friends in early 2021 and tied the knot at the Union Club that September.

Speaking about their whirlwind romance, Felber, who performs under the name Attawalpa, told The New York Times, "I think when you know, you know."

"I've only been alive for 35 years in this lifetime, and I think it's another archaic thing for guys to hide their feelings. I'm way more into the flow of getting to know the person. And I think Lena's the same," he continued. "And I think — I'm going to sound cheesy — but when you find your soulmate, you just know."

Last September, Dunham celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary with a sweet Instagram tribute.
