SINGAPORE — The Smart Nation and Digital Government Group launched the LifeSG mobile app on Wednesday (19 August), which will provide Singaporeans with a one-stop, personalised access to more than 40 government services.
Some of the services offered in the app include: checking CPF statement and balances, applying for passport, applying and renewing road tax and season parking, searching for SkillsFuture courses, and making blood-donation appointments.
It was launched by Minister-in-Charge of the Smart Nation Initiative, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, at a Smart Nation webinar titled “Putting People First in Tech Design”.
Improved navigation, topical guides
The LifeSG app is upgraded and rebranded to replace the Moments of Life mobile app, which had provided 12 government services predominantly for young parents and the elderly.
It will include a new user interface with improved navigation and topical guides. Information and services are grouped according to topics of interest, such as family and parenting, work and employment, healthcare, and housing and property.
Singaporeans can use the app’s dashboard to discover recommended content, access guides that simplify processes such as job and preschool searches, as well as discover government benefits through features such as the Family Support Calculator.
More app enhancements to come
The app will continue to be enhanced in the future. Upcoming plans will include an improved dashboard to provide citizens with an overview of key personal information such as their CPF, housing, and education details.
The app also plans to include upcoming medical and school appointments, and reminders that prompt users to complete important applications such as birth registration, baby bonus and primary school registration.
