Reginae Carter is looking for love.

The 25-year-old daughter of rapper Lil Wayne spoke to PEOPLE exclusively about her partnership with dating app BLK, and she says that in the past, bringing men home to meet her father has been quite the experience.

“My dad is so laid-back. We're best friends, so if I bring you to my father, he's going to be cool because he knows that if I'm bringing you, it's cool people,” she says. “He's not the type of dad that be acting all strict and mean, trying to scare the guys. He's never been that type, but he's still intimidating at the same time.”

Thanks to BLK, Carter is putting herself out there in the modern dating pool, having created her own profile to try and find love online.

While her potential suitors may be scared to meet the "Lollipop" rapper, Carter says the fear is more often born out of reverence for her father than anything else.

“They still got so much respect for him, and he still has that little talk about, ‘Don't play with my daughter,’ but I feel he should scare them more! I’m like, 'You need to scare them!' but he is still intimidating," she admits.

Lil Wayne, 41, became a dad to Carter when he was just 16 years old. He married his high school sweetheart Toya Johnson — Carter’s mother — in 2004, before getting divorced two years later.

Carter says having such young parents made her realize she wanted to wait until she was well out of her teens to have children, and her parents have always given her good advice when it comes to dating.

“My parents was in diapers [when they had me]. No, I'm just kidding. They were really young," she says with a laugh. "Growing up, I've always had this thing where it's like, I'm not getting pregnant yet. So I feel like dating for me [now] and looking at my parents? I'm a little scared."

She continues: "I've always had a trust issue thing with men, but I do love that my mom and my dad has always told me to keep my head on my shoulders and they’ve always steered me right. I always got a lesson from one of my parents: 'Hey, this is not what you need today, this is not what you need to go for, this man, if he's doing this, that's not it.'”

As for what Carter is looking for in a potential partner, she says that while she doesn’t mind if men are intimidated by her father, she doesn’t want them to be intimidated by her success.

“I'm really looking for someone that's honest and open and also that's not intimidated by me. It's really hard because a lot of men get intimidated by me because of who I am, who my father is," she says. "I want a real man that's going to really love me and support me and know that we're both a package deal. Nobody needs to get jealous of it."

Carter also says she's looking for "a God-fearing man," which to her, just means that her future partner will be open to prayer even if he doesn't go to church.

"And then someone who has a good relationship with their mom," she adds. "If you treat your mom right, you're going to treat me right.”
