New Line Snaps Up Feature Pitch ‘Big Time Abroad’ From Scarlett Bermingham & Andrew Rhymer
EXCLUSIVE: New Line Cinema has bought the feature pitch Big Time Abroad from screenwriters Scarlett Bermingham & Andrew Rhymer to be produced by Party Over Here. We hear it sold in the mid- to high-six figures.
While the storyline is under wraps, the pitch is being billed as Booksmart crossed with Indiana Jones.

Bermingham and Rhymer, who are married, are currently adapting the children’s book The Paper Bag Princess for Universal with LuckyChap, Brownstone and Clubhouse producing.
Bermingham’s feature Mimi was on the 2021 Black List. Rhymer’s debut feature Plus One, which he co-directed with Jeff Chan, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award.
Bermingham is repped by Verve, MGMT Entertainment and attorney Kim Jaime. Rhymer is repped by Verve, Iconoclast, and attorney Kim Jaime.
Upcoming for New Line Cinemas is Kevin Costner’s western Horizon: An American Saga, which will be released in two parts on June 28 and August 16. There’s also the M. Night Shyamalan-produced movie from his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan, Watchers. She’s making her directorial debut on that film, which stars Dakota Fanning and Georgina Campbell.
