“Live” audience member interrupts Howie Mandel’s interview with offer to date his son

Mandel engaged with a young woman who expressed interest in dating Mandel's son, Alex, while she sat in the "Live With Kelly and Mark" studio audience.

Howie Mandel is famously afraid of shaking hands and catching germs, but he has no fear when it comes to facilitating his son catching feelings on national television.

The America's Got Talent panelist appeared Monday on Live With Kelly and Mark, where he discussed his son and Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast producer Alex Mandel's love life, after Kelly Ripa pointed out that both of the star's daughters are married, while Alex remains single.

"Both my daughters went to college and got degrees," Mandel began. "We wanted [Alex] to be home schooled, and he wasn't accepted."

He went on to call Alex a "wonderful kid" who has a "model rescue service" that sees him bringing models in and "nursing them back to health" and "releases them before there's any commitment" to a relationship.

Shortly after, a woman in the audience spoke up to say that her name was "also Alex," and she caught Mandel's attention.

"Can you imagine? You'd be Alex squared," Mandel said. "You want to meet my son?"

The woman said she'd "love to," and Mandel informed her that Alex is "on an app."

"I was trying to be funny, but now he'll get mad at me. You seem like a lovely young lady," Mandel continued.

Ripa and Mark Consuelos laughed off the interaction before Ripa sent the show to commercial break in an attempt to "regroup" from the moment.
