NCAA tournament scores, results: South Carolina women and Purdue men advance; both NC State teams move on

Burns finished today's game with 29 points, four rebounds and three assists. He shot 13 of 19 from the field. He's the face of one of the more remarkable runs in NCAA tournament history.

What a win. What a run. NC State beats Duke for the second time in a run of 9 consecutive elimination games. Now it's headed to the Final Four with a 76-64 win in the Elite Eight.

State beats the press again. Another and-1 layup for DJ Burns. State leads 71-58 with 55.6 seconds remaining.

State's rotating Burns out of the lineup on defense when it can down the stretch. And rightfully looking to him on offense.

Duke is pressing with a full-court trap. NC State's handling it well. Layups on back-to-back possessions for a 62-5- lead. 2:18 remaining.

NC State's on a 37-19 run in a dominant second half.

DJ Burns, meanwhile, remains unstoppable. NC State leads, 58-44 at the last media timeout after a Burns drop-step and floater from the baseline.

Duke's trouble deepens. Kyle Filipowksi just fouled out throwing Michael O'Connell to the floor. NC State leads 56-44 with 4:52 remaining.

Duke's struggles from 3 (2 for 14) are playing a big role in its deficit right now. NC State's up 54-44 with 5:16 remaining.

Guarding DJ Burns one-on-one is a shaky proposition.

The technical did not matter. NC State now leads 51-42 after a 3-pointer by Michael McConnell. Duke's Mark Mitchell committed a foul while the shot was in the air too

NC State coach Kevin Keatts has been called for a technical after officials said the ball went out of bounds off NC State when it last touched Kyle Filipowski.

Duke has called its third timeout with 8:19 to go. The Wolfpack are up 48-40.

Duke calls timeout with 11:39 to go. NC State has a 40-38 lead. DJ Horne and DJ Burns have scored the Wolfpack's last eight points.

And on the very next possession, Kyle Filipowski draws Mohamed Diarra's fourth foul and gets the lead right back for Duke.

Two free throws from DJ Horne have given NC State a 36-35 lead with 12:59 to go.

NC State has cut Duke's lead to 33-29 with 15:11 to go in the game. The Wolfpack have made a few baskets at the rim this half after struggling mightily to get anything to go down in the first half.

Purdue is heading to the Final Four the year after the Boilermakers lost in the first round

Zach Edey's block of Dalton Knecht with less than a minute to go might have just sealed it for Purdue.

Tennessee takes a timeout with 1:28 to go after a bucket by Zakai Ziegler. Purdue leads 68-62. Zach Edey has 38 points.

Purdue may be pulling away from Tennessee here. As Tennessee is doubling Zach Edey, the Boilermakers are getting open 3-pointers. Lance Jones hit one with over 2 minutes to go to give Purdue a six-point lead.

Purdue leads 59-58 with 3:58 to go. Zach Edey will be going to the free throw line after the under-4 timeout.

Tennessee has now committed 20 fouls. The Vols averaged 17.3 fouls per game entering the Elite Eight.
