Jurgen Klopp has issued worrying injury updates on Liverpool duo Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.

Liverpool made easy work of Brentford on Saturday, winning 4-1 as Mohamed Salah came off the bench to score one goal and assist another upon his return from injury.

But the result will be overshadowed by Jota being forced off during the first half, shortly after Curtis Jones also had to be substituted. Nunez saw out the first half but was unable to continue after half-time.

Jota's injury was clear after a coming-together with Christian Norgaard which saw the Brentford midfielder land on top of the Reds forward. Nunez's withdrawal was a surprise to many.

"We are not sure if he has something or not," Klopp said of Nunez, suggesting the striker may have been withdrawn as a precaution. "He felt a little bit. We will see. It is not easy for us."

Asked about Jota and Jones, Klopp said: "We lost players, which we don't know how serious it is. It doesn't look great for either of them."
