London travel news LIVE: Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express disruption after fault at Paddington

Train services between Paddington station and Heathrow Airport terminals are disrupted on Wednesday evening after a safety inspection.

Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express services are affected, with cancellations and delays expected until 9pm.

Earlier, Chelsea Bridge was shut to traffic after a serious collision involving a skip lorry and a cyclist.

The incident happened shortly after 8am on Wednesday on the north side of the bridge, near the Chelsea Embankment, leaving the cyclist badly injured.

The bridge was reopened at around 2.30pm on Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Police said no arrests have been made.

London Paddington cancellations and delays extend to Penzance

Chelsea Bridge shut after collision between cyclist and lorry

A cyclist is thought to have suffered “potentially life-changing injuries” in collision with a skip lorry on Chelsea Bridge during the Wednesday morning rush hour.

The incident is believed to have happened at around 8am on the north side of the bridge, near the Chelsea Embankment.

Two eyewitnesses told the Standard that the vehicle involved was a skip lorry. One said she helped to stop the traffic to enable the cyclist, a man, to be treated.
