London's Ama Lou on Salomon, Speedcross and Personal Style in Paris

Ama Lou is a Salomon girl through and through. With an effortlessly cool attitude and immediately calming presence, her energy is one that suits Salomon perfectly. During this season at Paris Fashion Week, Lou continued her fruitful partnership with the French mountain lifestyle brand, debuting the upcoming Speedcross 3 silhouette with a breathtaking performance at the brand's fashion week showroom.

"We've done so many great things together over the last couple of years. I love working with them, it always feels super collaborative and natural. The projects seem to come together really organically," the artist tells us.

We caught up with Lou in Paris to find out more about her relationship with Salomon, the significance of the Speedcross silhouette and how she defines her personal style -- not forgetting to hear her honeyed vocals in the flesh.

Tell me a bit about how you got started in music?
I kind of just fell into it, it quickly became the only option for me as all my other interests fell away as career options. I started writing songs at 11 and that was kind of it. From then on, music was my constant obsession.

What has your journey into the industry been like so far?
It feels like I've had like 1000 lifetimes in my career so far. Many ups and downs but it's all been a dream. I love what I do so much and would do it even if no one was watching.

How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is really just a mix of whatever pieces I love and then I just kind of... put them together. I don't think I have a particular style. I just like nice things, well-made things. I also have complete adoration for fashion history I and do get obsessed with certain things at different times. But overall they come together in a pretty eclectic way.

Tell me a bit about your relationship with Salomon. How did that come about and how has it evolved?
I can't even remember how it started, it's been a little while now! We've done so many great things together over the last couple of years. I love working with them, it always feels super collaborative and natural. The projects seem to come together really organically.

What do you think of the new Speedcross sneaker?
The speedcross is my favourite! They might be the only pair of shoes I've worn out so much I have to get new ones and that is really saying something with Salomon as they are so hard wearing. I also love the XT4 mule, the RX Marie Jeanne and the Slide 3.0.

Finally, what's next for you?
All the big things, all new things. New music, new videos, new everything.
