Loud Bangs Ring Out as Gun Fired at Kherson Protest Against Russian Invasion

Thousands of Ukrainians protested in the center of Kherson on Saturday, March 5, days after the city was seized by Russian armed forces, local media reported.

In this footage, livestreamed by Igor Novitsky, loud bangs are heard as members of a crowd carrying Ukrainian flags jump small fencing and walk towards the city’s Svobody Square.

Further bangs can be heard after the majority of the crowd move across to the square chanting.

Novitsky told Storyful that he estimated the size of the crowd was in the thousands and that it was growing in size as he left.

Further footage verified by Storyful showed a Russian soldier firing his weapon in the air when confronted by a crowd at the same location.
