Warning: This story contains spoilers from episodes 1-6 of Love Is Blind season 6.

It only took one episode for Love Is Blind season 6 to deliver another shocking love triangle — and now, Amber Desiree "AD" Smith is shedding some light on what really happened behind the scenes.

Though she got off to an awkward start with Matthew Duliba inside the pods, the two quickly formed a connection after AD was able to see past his rough exterior. But things took a turn when AD discovered that Matthew also had formed a connection with Amber Grant — and was telling her the exact same things.

After the drama unfolded, both Amber and Matthew left the show, while AD went on to pursue her connection with Clay Gravesande. And despite their own ups and downs, Clay and AD ultimately got engaged.

Following Matthew's shocking betrayal in the pods, AD, 32, tells PEOPLE that she has since communicated with the 37-year-old senior financial advisor and there's no bad blood between them.

"I have zero regrets on my little love triangle," she says. "I think I did the best and I made the best decisions I could in that moment."

"I did have a few conversations with Matthew," she continues. "It went well. Matthew's got a very interesting way of getting his point across. And so, I didn't push, I didn't pull anything out of him. He said what he wanted to say, and we had our conversation, and we moved on."

During one of their pod dates in episode 1, Matthew told AD that he wanted to ask for her father's blessing before proposing. He also told her, "You give me the word: If you wanna leave, I'll leave with you ... I'll take you to the top of a mountain and propose to you, I don't care. Just say, 'Matthew, let's get the hell of out here.'"

When he asked if she would tell anyone else about what he said, AD responded that she was "gonna simmer in it" because "I'm just loving this moment. I just want it to be mine, and ours."

"I think Matthew is the sweetest, kindest, most genuine soul here," she said in a confessional following their date. "We don't see them like him often."

But later on in the day, Amber, 31, disclosed to AD that she "had a good date" with Matthew and revealed, "He talked about asking my dad [for his blessing] and if he can't do that, we can leave [the show]. I was like, 'I'm fine with that, I'll leave too.'"

AD was understandably shocked to hear this since everything Matthew told her was "almost verbatim" to his conversation with Amber.

"It's not like I don't want you to talk to her but the same explicit s--- where I'm crying like a f---ing idiot to you? What are you doing?" AD vented to fellow costar Alejandra, 27, inside the women's quarters.

When she confronted Matthew about the similar conversations, AD told him, "I left here so validated and so secure, and to hear the things you were saying, it really messed me up. She was very open and candid about the things you were saying and it sounded exactly like what you said to me."

Matthew claimed it was "not true" and insisted that "some of the things I said to you were much more deep than what I said to her." He also told AD that if he had to make a decision that day, he would've chose her.

Later in the women's quarters, Amber and AD finally confronted one another and confirmed that Matthew had told them both the same things just hours apart. After the two cried and hugged it out, Amber announced it was "time to bow out" and leave the show.

AD then entered the pods for another date with a distressed Matthew. The two talked but he eventually declared it was "not fair" that he couldn't "commit to the plan that you want," partly because AD also had a connection with Clay, so he was also walking away from the show.

Before leaving the room, AD sarcastically noted that he sounded "devastated" and asked if it was because Amber had left. In response, Matthew said, "Yeah, I feel like I broke someone's heart on national TV ... and then I did the same thing to you yesterday."

Stunned by his response, AD walked out. Back in the men's quarters, Matthew reiterated, "I'm done, I'm gonna go get Amber."

At this point, it is unclear if Matthew and Amber ever reconnect outside of the pods. As for AD, she and Clay are currently engaged and enjoying their Punta Cana getaway before returning to reality in Charlotte, North Carolina.
