SINGAPORE – Rachel Lim has not only ‘given’ birth to her fifth Love, Bonito store at Ion Orchard, the first-time mother has given birth to a healthy baby son, Oliver today (11 December).

Lim shared the ecstatic news on her Instagram page, welcoming her bundle of joy to the world: “Still in awe that this amazing creation was formed inside of me. And can’t believe I’m a mama now.”

Lim chronicled her pregnancy journey on Instagram as she highlighted the onset of preterm placental calcification – a condition where the placenta started calcifying prematurely in high-risk pregnant women. “This usually only happens towards the end of a pregnancy (37 weeks onwards) and having experienced it at such an early stage poses many risks to the baby as it would affect the supply of blood/nutrients/oxygen to him. Dr Ann has been monitoring mine and baby’s condition closely since we found out about it, and each weekly visit is always an anxious one,” she shared.

Friends and influencers like Velda Tan, Cella Vanessa Tjahyanto and Savina Chai took to Instagram to congratulate Lim.

On 9 July this year, Yahoo Lifestyle SEA reported that Lim announced her pregnancy on her Instagram account.

In her Instagram post, Lim shared: “So excited to finally be able to share this with all of you!! Thank you for journeying with me over the last decade; from BonitoChico in my late teens, to @lovebonito, to my marriage, and now, starting a family!”

“The last couple of months have been a whirlwind of emotions and adjustments - so thankful I’m slowly learning to cope. So much more to learn and look forward to in this next stage!”

Based on her Instagram hashtag #16weeks, the 32-year-old entrepreneur revealed she is now four months pregnant.

An outpour of congratulatory messages flooded Lim’s social media, with many personalities and influencers thrilled with the news.

Influencer Crystal Li shared the message: “Congratulations Rachel! And welcome to the Mama’s club!”

In addition to Li, Fiona Fussi, Savina Chai, singer Tay Kewei and TV host Amanda Chaang also congratulated Lim.
