Love Island airs results of Casa Amor recoupling

Tonight’s (February 16) episode of Love Island was one for the books because we finally got to see the results of the famed Casa Amor recoupling.

The boys of the villa were tasked with deciding whether they would stick with their original partners or couple up with one of the new girls. The girls also were tasked to do the same.

If the guy chose to recouple and their original partner walked in on her own, she would be single. If the guy chose to remain loyal but the girl walked in with a new partner, the boy would remain single.

Maya Jama came into the villa to mediate the whole thing, and a *lot* of drama went down as each guy chose their partner.

First up was Casey, who upon being asked whether he wants to recouple with Cynthia or stick with Claudia, said: “I’ve drawn closer to one girl in particular. Making this decision was very hard, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know her.

"Coming in, I wanted to be super open because that’s the fair thing to do. But I’ve decided to stick with Claudia.”

When Claudia walked in alone, she was happy to see Casey alone as well. But Cynthia was upset and crying, which made Claudia ask Casey if things were “that deep”. When Casey said no, she laughed, almost causing a fight between the Casa Amor girls and herself.

We then moved on to Kai, who was tasked with sticking with Olivia or choosing to recouple with Sanam.

He chose Sanam and said he was genuinely happy to be with her and hoped that Olivia recoupled as well.

When Olivia walked in with a guy on her arm, Kai appeared relieved, but then Olivia made some remarks towards Kai, which left everyone confused, seeing as she also recoupled with someone.

“Very telling, can’t say I’m shocked. ‘Missing me already’, clearly not enough. Oh well, his loss, my gain,” she said.

Next up was Ron, who had the choice of staying with Lana or recoupling. He chose to stay with Lana and, when she walked in alone, he was visibly relieved.

Then we went to Tom, who had to choose between staying with Samie or recoupling, and he decided to “go with his heart” and choose Samie. She also came back alone, and so they stay together.

Next came Will, who looked incredibly nervous: “I’m very nervous. This was a tough old experience, not gonna lie. It has been very challenging. I’m going to be a broken man either way. I’ve let myself down, but I hope I didn’t let Jessie down.”

He decided to stay with Jessie, even though he had kissed new girl Layla. Jessie walked in alone and they were both in tears. When it was revealed a few minutes later that Will was not loyal to Jessie in the villa, Jessie was annoyed at Will but very mature about it with Layla.

“I really didn’t think you would do that,” she said to Will, and then turned to Layla and said: “Layla, I’m sorry you got in the middle of everything. You’re a gorgeous girl.”

And finally, it was Shaq’s turn. He had his heart set on Tanya, saying: “A piece of me will be missing [if she doesn’t walk in alone]. She’s been a huge part of my journey here. Absence really does make hearts grow fonder. I really love her.”

When Tanya walked in with new guy Martin, Shaq appeared heartbroken. “I’m lost for words, I actually meant it when I said I love you. I guess not everyone means it when they say something like that,” he said.

Tanya tried to play both sides, telling Shaq: “I went in not expecting any connections, but then I met Martin and I thought I’d give it more time, but it’s not the end for me.”

“It's the end for me. Good luck to you bro, but I’m done here. Nice guys finish last, it is what it is,” Shaq said to them, before taking a seat alone.

At the end of the night, five girls and four guys from Casa Amor end up getting dumped from the villa. What will happen now that Casa Amor is done and the couples have to face what went down?

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2, and is available via catch up on ITVX and BritBox.
