Love Island star's family respond to Joey Essex romance
Love Island star Samantha Kenny's family have responded to her romance with Joey Essex on the show.
The ITV show dropped a huge twist upon its new season launch this week, with the TOWIE star entering the villa. Joey has since been getting close to Samantha in the villa, with her sister April now admitting that the family is "rooting for them".
"We love him," she told The Mirror. "He’s absolutely gorgeous. Joey is fun, good looking. He’s got everything for Sam.”

Addressing whether her sister knew a lot about Joey beforehand, April admitted: “I’m not going to say she wouldn’t have heard of him, but she wasn’t a massive TOWIE fan.
"That’s probably more my age range – she was more into Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars. I followed TOWIE. Some of the older girls probably know him a bit more.
“We watched TOWIE when Joey was on and we always thought he was brilliant," she continued. "He’s comical, he’s good-looking, he’s just the vibe, so when he picked Samantha we were over the moon.

"He’s got Sam’s family’s seal of approval. They seem genuinely happy and getting on like a house on fire.”
Speaking on how her parents feel about seeing the show's more risqué moments, April revealed her father is "getting it proof watched before he watches it, to make sure it’s OK," though their mum "is fine with it".
April also said it didn’t come as a surprise that Samantha and Joey have hit it off, noting that her sister "loves fun" and "we all know Joey Essex can bring the fun".

"I knew she was going to absolutely love him and I knew straight away they’d get on," she added. "They’ve got on like a house on fire, it’s really natural."
As for Joey's intentions, April said Samantha "is a good judge of character" and "wouldn't be getting to know him if she doubted his intentions".
Meanwhile, Joey's sister Frankie has reacted to her brother's appearance on Love Island, admitting she "didn’t have a clue" beforehand and became suspicious when she was unable to get hold of him.
