Lackenby-Brown said: "I’m very loyal but that means I sometimes put others before myself. But this is Love Island so I’m not going to go in there and let the girls takeover because in the past I’ve been like, ‘If you like him, you have him’."

Talking about what gives him the ick, Salako said: "When girls sing-along all messy to songs like Wonderwall in the bar."

Love Island viewers got a brief glimpse of the two new islanders on Tuesday night, but more details were released about them after the episode.

In Wednesday's episode, they will be seen entering the villa and getting to know their fellow islanders as the group try to decide whether they will stick with their current partner, or choose someone new in the recoupling ceremony tonight.

Which couples will split? (ITV)

As bombshell Tom Clare had already entered the villa, there is one extra male contestant who will be left without a partner - so the islander left single will become the first person this series to be sent back home.

Currently, the couples in the villa are Shaq Muhammed and Tanya Manhenga, Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins, Will Young and Olivia Hawkins, Anna-May Robey and Haris Namani, and Kai Fagan and Tanyel Revan.

This is the first series presented by new host Maya Jama, and the second Love Island winter series which is filming in South Africa.

Love Island continues nightly at 9pm on ITV2.
