Love Island's Casey and Rosie split just days after leaving the villa

Love Island couple Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabrook have broken up just two weeks after leaving the villa.

Casey confirmed the news on his Instagram that the fan-favourite duo, who almost made it to the finale and had their fair share of drama on the show, had parted ways.

Despite their on-screen chemistry, the couple have decided to just be friends outside the villa.

In an Instagram Q&A on his stories, he encouraged his followers to ask him anything about his life. One fan asked the reality star: "How are things with you and Rosie?"

Then Casey dropped the bombshell that the couple had spoken since leaving the show and decided to part ways.

He wrote: "Rosie and I have spoken… she's a great girl. Life outside the villa is just very different and we will remain friends moving forward."

Rosie has not confirmed or commented on the split yet, but recently attended a concert with fellow ex-islander Jessie Wynter.

Some eagle-eyed fans predicted that the duo had ended their relationship, after they had an "awkward" interaction on the reunion show. In Sunday's (March 19) instalment, host Maya Jama quizzed the couple about how their relationship is going outside the villa.

After a noticeable pause, Casey said: "We got back and said to each other that we're just gonna see family and friends for the week. It's all a bit overwhelming when you come back so that was the plan. But we've got a date on Tuesday, so we're looking forward to that…"

He added: "I think there's a lot of pressure, and we're just not at that stage yet and we just want to take it a bit slower."

The duo had a turbulent start to their relationship as Rosie chose to couple up with Casey, and he had to uncouple from his partner, Claudia Fogarty. An emotional Claudia was devastated as she had already caught feelings and was invested to see where their relationship would go.

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2, and is available via catch up on ITVX and BritBox.
