Love Island's Georgia Harrison responds to viral Casey 'grandad' moment on All Stars

Love Island’s Georgia Harrison has responded to the viral ‘grandad’ moment with Casey O’Gorman from the All Stars series.

Georgia and Casey had history before the most recent series and had been "seeing each other" for a while, before Casey started "ghosting" her, according to Georgia.

So when Casey entered the Love Island villa as a bombshell, Georgia decided to confront him about why he suddenly ended things – and his reason was unexpected, to say the least.

"You know me, I’m not really much of a spiritual person," Casey said, before referring to a conversation they had while Georgia was on a spiritual retreat.

"You mentioned my grandad and stuff like that, and that really threw me off. You started to say that you saw my dead grandad… and he wishes me well, and I was like, ‘this is just way too much for me.’"

This bizarre revelation went viral and was one of the most memorable moments from the show’s first-ever All Stars edition – and now Georgia has responded and given her take on the situation.

While appearing as a guest on the first episode of So Wrong It’s Right, fellow season-three islander Olivia Attwood’s new podcast, Georgia said: "Having been with Casey, we’d spoken multiple times about how it was really hard for him having just lost his nan and grandad, they were very, very close, and he found it hard to deal with that.

"What I was trying to say was, ‘I think they’re still with you, I think they’re still on your journey, I think they still guide you, and they probably take a lot of peace out of getting to see you do so well in your life as you are.'"

She continued: "I wasn’t trying to say, 'Just bumped into your dead grandad in Tesco, he’s looking fly.'"

Meanwhile, Georgia and partner Anton Danyluk, who came fifth on the series, have been spending time together since leaving South Africa.

In an Instagram Q&A the pair did together, Georgia said: "It’s been nice missing each other, and there’s no pressure on us."

Love Island returns later this year on ITV2, ITVX, and STV.
