Love Island's Maura Higgins has opened up about her on-camera reunion with ex-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard in Love Island: Games.

The reality TV star, who is the official social ambassador for Love Island US and Love Island: Games, revealed that she interviewed Curtis as a contestant on the spin-off series.

In a chat with Love Island alumni Kem Cetinay, during his Capital Late Show on Monday night (November 6), Maura recalled that she "wasn't too... polite" in the interview.

"Do you know what, like, everyone's very excited about this because obviously they know that I would have had to interview him like, if he gets dumped from the show or if he makes the final," she explained.

"Yeah, there is an interview. Like, I don't really know if I can say that or not. But I mean, there is an interview and I'm trying to think back, like, how it went like, I think it was okay, I think I was nice. I think."

After further reflection, Maura added: "I think there might have been moments where I wasn't too... polite, but I think I made it more of a joke."

Maura and Curtis coupled up in the 2019 series, finishing as runners up in the live final. The two continued dating after the show, but announced their split in March 2020 after eight months together.

Curtis is one of eight British ex-Islanders taking part in the US spin-off series. Other familiar faces include season 4 stars Megan Barton Hanson, Eyal Booker, Jack Fowler and Georgia Steel, plus season 6's Mike Boateng and season 7's Liberty Poole and Toby Aromolaran.

Meanwhile, Maura's new role was officially confirmed in July this year, with the former Islander making her debut on Love Island US in August.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX. The US edition of the show streams on Peacock.
