Love Island's Maya Jama unveils hair transformation

Love Island host Maya Jama has surprised fans by debuting a new hair colour in a recent Instagram post.

The radio DJ took over from Laura Whitmore earlier this year and is now at the helm of ITV2's dating show.

In a carousel published on her Instagram page, Jama has unveiled a lighter hair shade, trading her raven locks for some honey-hued highlights.

The presenter posted several snaps of herself wearing a halterneck black leather gown paired with matching knee-high boots. She also included a candid mirror selfie in which she's using hair removal cream on her upper lip area.

A flurry of fans posted their appreciation, including Strictly star and new Big Brother host AJ Odudu, who replied with a simple fire emoji.

Only a few days ago, Jama, who's witnessing the current Love Island season drama first-hand, looked back at a past couple as proof the show can truly work in helping Islanders find a real connection. The host praised Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury following the news of their engagement.

"See, Love Island works," Jama said on Aftersun when congratulating the couple. "They've got a baby, engagement, just a happy ever after!"

Chiming in, co-star Sam Thompson added "Money", to which Jama replied: "Loads of money! All of that stuff!"

Molly-Mae and Tommy met on Love Island back in 2019, where they ended up as runners-up, and have been together since. Earlier this year, they welcomed their first child, daughter Bambi. And Bambi was present during the sweet moment in which Tommy got down on one knee to propose to Molly-Mae on a cliff in Ibiza.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
