Love Island contestant Montana Brown underwent some surgery this week, although it's not yet clear what kind of procedure was done.

Three months since welcoming her and fiancé Mark O'Connor's first child together, a son named Jude, she let followers know about her hospitalisation via Instagram Stories, with the little one keeping her company as she waited to enter theatre.

"What a lovely massage ahead of surgery. Thank you Jude," Montana captioned a clip.

This comes after the reality TV star openly discussed her and Mark's fertility struggles prior to getting pregnant.

Asked by one social media fan if starting a family had been pre-planned, Montana replied in a video: "This was planned, however, I didn't realise for ages that I was pregnant because we were trying earlier on in the year and [it] wasn't happening.

"Then I had loads of tests done through [nutrition practitioner] Pippa Campbell; found out I had very low levels of oestrogen and testosterone which I was really surprised at."

Although this diagnosis didn't "make sense" to her, Montana was forced to accept that it might simply take them longer than usual to conceive.

In a follow-up clip, she also confessed that she and Mark barely had sex around the time she discovered their baby news, so it came as an enormous shock.

Elsewhere in the world of motherhood, fellow Islander Laura Anderson recently gave birth to a daughter named Bonnie Rose Lucy Anderson, who she shares with Hollyoaks' Gary Lucy.

Laura announced the birth in an Instagram post, reading ""My Mummy and Daddy are sooooo happy and in love with me, this is our first week together. I'm sorry it's taken me some time to introduce myself, I hurt my mummy a little bit and scared my daddy too (oops) we're all now recovering well at home."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
