Lung Siu Kwan accused of shoplifting

11 Jun - It was reported that teacher-turned-singer Lung Siu Kwan was recently arrested for shoplifting.

As reported on Mingpao News, on 10 June, a security guard stopped a female customer at the AEON Supermarket in Quarry Bay after realising that she didn’t pay for her items.

Upon inspection, it was found that the woman had fruits and vegetables in her bag worth HKD120 (approximately USD15).

Although the woman stated that she has forgotten about the items in her bag and wanted to pay for it, she was taken to the Chai Wan Police Station for questioning instead.

Lung’s manager had since confirmed that the singer was the woman in question, though stressed that it was just a simple mistake.

The manager stated that Lung, who went shopping after returning from the gym, forgot about the fruits and vegetables she put in her environment-friendly bag after paying for other items.

Lung’s manager also added that there is no motive of theft but only forgetfulness on her part, since the goods worth is only HKD120.

However, the police have yet to decide whether to drop the case at the time of writing.
