Machete-waving man shot by police in Boston

BOSTON (Reuters) - A man waving a machete was shot by police in Boston on Tuesday and died of his injuries, police officials said. "Our officers tried their best to get him to put down the knife," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told reporters at the scene. The man, whose identity was not immediately released, had been under surveillance by the U.S. Joint Terrorism Task force, local media reported. (Reporting by Scott Malone)
