Married at First Sight Australia star Jesse Burford has cleared up a common fan misconception about the hit dating show.

The reality star, who was a MAFS Australia cast member in the 2023 series, was replying to follower questions on a Q&A session on his Instagram Stories on Sunday (July 23).

It was during the questioning, that a fan asked about the show's alcohol policy, particularly during the dinner party episodes.

"Were you allowed to drink as much as you want at the dinner parties," read the question in Jesse's Q&A box.

"No," replied Jesse, adding for explanation: "If you got drunk, you got dragged."

He concluded: "MAFS myth: they do not ram you with alcohol".

Viewers often see brides and grooms drinking wine during the dinner party episodes, both on arrival and when seated at dinner.

As conversations get heated and table confessions come out, some fans have assumed that free-flowing alcohol could be aiding the drama.

Jesse's denial certainly doesn't match up with his co-star's recent confession.

Fellow MAFS Australia groom Ollie Skelton admitted to being drunk on the show in a TikTok video, which showed footage of a dinner party from the latest series.

"A lot of people say, 'Hey, Tahnee and Ollie, you weren’t in the show'," he began. "We actually were. I just didn’t get any screen time because I was drunk the whole time.

"Look at it here. Adam [Seed] and Harrison [Boon] talking shit, I’m blind. Can barely get a sentence out. Help me."

Jesse was partnered with Claire on the last season of Married at First Sight Australia. Whilst the couple had a successful start to their marriage, things turned sour after Claire admitted to kissing fellow groom Adam Seed behind Jesse's back.

Though Jesse was able to forgive Claire for her infidelity, he ended their relationship due to trust issues in the following commitment ceremony.

Claire has since confirmed her relationship with My Kitchen Rules star Pat Calleja in July.

Meanwhile, Jesse remains single, having shut down dating rumours with fellow brides Janelle Han and Lyndall Grace.
