MAFS's Timothy opens up on tragic loss before wedding
Married At First Sight Australia star Timothy Smith has opened up about the tragic loss of his father just weeks before his wedding.
Tonight's (27 February) episode saw wedding celebrant Lucinda Light get married to business owner Timothy.
Ahead of the wedding, Timothy revealed that his father had died just six weeks before his big day and that his mother and brother had sadly died 17 years previously.

In an emotional speech at the wedding reception, Timothy said: "You're most probably wondering why I don't have any family here. So, unfortunately, Mum, who was my best friend, passed away 17 years ago along with my little brother."
As Timothy spoke, his bride, her family and the guests became tearful as they watched him struggle with his words.
He continued: "And then I lost Dad about six weeks ago. The night I found out that Dad had passed away I walked around my suburb all night, reflecting on life and love and everything, and I realised I was alone. That was the day I realised I wanted to change my life and ironically this all came about so it was a very easy decision to make because of what I've gone through."

"I think he's really brave," Lucinda said after listening to her new husband.
Things got off to a bit of a dramatic start for the pair, whose wedding was first interrupted by Lucinda's ceremonialist friend, who conducted a smoke blessing using the wings of a dead bird.
The wedding then made MAFS history as the first ever "washout" when a rainstorm forced all the guests to run inside. The weather later cleared and the ceremony went ahead.
Elsewhere, personal trainer Jack Dunkley married business development manager Tori Adams. Tori's best friend Lea became suspicious of Jack whose only guests at the wedding were his gym clients.
