Magnitude 6.9 quake hits off Vanuatu - USGS, no tsunami warning

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit off the coast of Vanuatu, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Friday. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said there was no resulting tsunami. The quake struck 37 miles north-northeast of the capital Port Vila, and was 20.5 miles deep. (Editing by Jeremy Laurence)
