Magnum PI reboot confirmed to be ending
Magnum PI has been axed by NBC.
It is the second time that the series has been cancelled.
The reboot of the popular 1980s show, which starred Tom Selleck in the lead role, was cancelled by CBS after four seasons, before being saved by NBC less than two months later.
The network has now decided to let the show conclude with its remaining episodes.

As reported by Deadline, NBC is "expected to mount a sizeable campaign for the remaining 10 episodes, marketing them as the series' final chapter".
Suicide Squad star Jay Hernandez plays the titular role of Thomas Magnum, a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, after returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator, taking on the cases that no one else will.
It sees Perdita Weeks as his investigative partner Juliet Higgins, an ex-MI6 agent, alongside fellow vets Theodore TC Calvin (Stephen Hill) and Orville Rick Wright (Zachary Knighton).

News of the cancellation comes as the options on the cast were due to expire on June 30, forcing NBC to make a decision on either extending those deals or wrapping up the show.
When NBC saved the Magnum PI reboot, the network said it would be back for a 20-episode fifth season, split into two parts of 10 episodes each.
The first 10 have already aired - the last aired on April 23 - with the final 10 expected for midseason 2024, although this may depend on the impact of the Writers Guild of America strike.
The original show spanned eight seasons and 162 episodes. The reboot will end its run after 96 episodes.
A return date for Magnum PI has not yet been announced, but the show will return for its mid-season return in 2024.
