Stabbing occurs at Malaysian laundrette, victim in hospital
The victim is currently receiving medical attention at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital
A woman became a victim of a stabbing attack by an unknown assailant in an incident on Saturday (30 September) at a self-service laundrette at Seberang Takir in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.
Footage from the laundrette's closed-circuit television (CCTV) depicted the attacker approaching the woman from behind and ruthlessly stabbing her in the back.

The attacker fled the scene in a grey Proton Wira, which had been parked in front of a 24-hour convenience store adjacent to the laundrette.
According to the deputy police chief of Kuala Terengganu, Wan Mohd Zaki Wan Ismail, the 31-year-old victim sustained her injuries from what is believed to be a pair of scissors wielded by the assailant.
The victim's condition has stabilised, and she is receiving medical attention at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital. The victim also did not report any monetary losses.
Law enforcement is actively investigating the incident under Section 324/393 of the Penal Code, which pertains to voluntarily causing harm through dangerous weapons or means and attempting robbery.

Meanwhile, internet users were quick to respond to the incident. Many expressed shock and fear, while others called for a damning punishment on those who commit such crimes.
"If you have no money, go find money, not do something stupid like this that troubles other people," tweeted @azimaazmannnnnn.
"Malaysia is no longer peaceful. People are becoming weirder," said @ruise_maya.
"Can we normalise hanging people to death for individuals who purposefully hurt other people?" @ddalgi_kv tweeted.
One user, @teeraathirah, tweeted how such cases are the reason why she is scared to move around alone.
"This is why I said that I'm scared for my safety when I am alone. I would imagine that someone would try to kill me or hurt me. We don't know. I'm even scared to use the lift at my place alone. Even with CCTV, it is not safe now," she said.
In the same district in August, a taxi driver was stabbed to death by a 29-year-old passenger who was eventually arrested by police.
