Mama June Gets Worrisome Call from Anna About Feeling 'Pain' for 'Days' in “Family Crisis” Teaser (Exclusive)

"I'm just hurting really bad, and I don't know what happened," Anna tells her mom in PEOPLE's exclusive clip of a moment occurring ahead of her December 2023 death

Cameras were rolling as Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell frantically called her mother in "so much pain," asking to be taken to the hospital.

PEOPLE has an exclusive of the Friday, June 14 return of Mama June: Family Crisis, which shows a peaceful moment of zen for Mama June Shannon to be interrupted by a worrisome call from Anna.

The clip begins with Mama June, 44, smelling a candle as she unboxes three different packages. She explains in a confessional, "Justin [Stroud] and the girls want to be pissy pants? They can be pissy pants, okay? And I'm at home cuz I need my zen space for a minute while Justin's all fussing about me to his mother."

"So this girl is huge into candles and wax smells, and I just got a new shipment in, and it makes my heart happy, happy, happy," she adds.

As Mama June takes a whiff of another candle, her phone begins to ring, and she immediately puts the candle and boxes aside when she sees it's a call from Anna.

After Anna says hello, Mama June jokingly tells her that she's interrupting her "candle unboxing," to which Anna responds, "I don't care. I just, mama, I just — I need to go to the hospital."

Anna tells her, "I'm in so much pain right now. I'm just hurting really bad, and I don't know what happened, and it's been like this for the past couple of days, and it's just going to get worse."

Mama June, nervously staring at her phone, tells Anna, "Okay, we'll just figure it out. Justin's with his mom, but I mean, I can call Justin. I just don't know how, like, where they're at."

After telling Anna that it is "not a big deal" since Justin lives "like 3 minutes down the road," Mama June voices her frustrations in another confessional.

"I mean, it sucks because I don't have a driver's license, and I've never drove and I always have to rely on somebody, and where we live at there is no car services. There is no nothing like that. I don't know what else to say in this bit. I'm hopeless as f---."

The clip then cuts back to Mama June's phone call with Anna, who tells her, "Hurry up, please."

Anna died in Dec. 2023 at the age of 29 after being diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma that January.

Days after her death, her husband, Eldridge Toney, told PEOPLE that filming resumed during the last few months of Anna's life because it was something she "wanted to do."

“She wanted to bring awareness to her rare type of cancer because there is still so much unknown about it, and it is very rare," he said.
