Mama June's 'Stronger' Mentality Causes Rift with Husband Justin as They Move Closer to Anna amid Her Cancer Journey

During Friday's 'Mama June: Family Crisis', Justin claimed June had to stop thinking like she's "single," especially after she ended their current lease without consulting him, but she insisted that her past relationships pushed her to be independent

Mama June Shannon isn't afraid to call the shots in her relationship — even if it can make her husband Justin Stroud frustrated sometimes.

On Friday's episode of Mama June: Family Crisis, the couple began touring homes in Georgia in an effort to move closer to her daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell amid her stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

"I really hope this house works because I wanted to move as of yesterday," June 44, explained in a confessional. "Closer to everybody, especially Anna because right now she is extremely sick. Like you want to be there no matter what."

As the couple toured a potential home, Justin noted that the property was clean and the closets were a nice size before pointing out a glaring issue. When he noticed that the bathroom was missing a mirror over the sink, June declared, "Beggars can't be choosers."

She went on to say how close the house was in proximity to Anna and suggested the couple just "bite the bullet" and sign a lease in order to take care of her daughter.

Moments later, June revealed that she had called the landlord for their Alabama home and canceled their lease. Justin was shocked at her confession and pointed out that the couple now only had a few days to find a home and move out.

"You don't just make decisions about what house we're gonna live in, June," he snapped at her. "When were you really going to tell me this?"

When Justin said he was "hoping we could look around a bit," he was met with silence. He then interjected, "It doesn't look like my opinion matters, period. You make decisions about houses by yourself."

In a conversation with cameras, June explained why she liked making decisions on her own.

"Justin always thinks I'm the balls or I like to wear the pants or I don't want anybody's opinion, but it's not that," she said. "I'm used to having men that I've been in relationships with, have my f---ing credit cards, beating the s--- out of me, telling me that hey, I'm not allowed to talk unless I'm spoke[n] to and now I don't have to do that."

She added, "I have my own opinion because I don't give a s--- whether you like it or you don't like it. I'm gonna have it because I have my voice back and I'm stronger than I was."

Despite feeling dissatisfied with the first house they toured, June and Justin signed a new lease for the home. While meeting his mother, Roxanne a.k.a. Mama Dukes, for breakfast, Justin asked his wife for more consideration in her decision making process.

"She's gotta learn she's not single anymore," he added.

During that same outing, the trio spoke about the possibility of June and Justin taking custody of Anna's eldest child should she die from cancer and the difficulties that came with bringing up that topic.

"[With] everything Anna's got going on, like, it may be a real possibility that we end up raising Kaitlyn," June told Justin in a joint confessional as he replied, "You know I'm going to be here and do what I need to do to raise that little girl but she has to like get paperwork and make it legal."

June pointed out that signing away "rights" to a child is "not the easiest f---ing thing to do," and told Justin and Roxanne that determining custody is probably a "hard pill to swallow" for Anna.

"At that point, it's going to become real to her," she explained. "She's not going to be able to see her graduate, she's not this. She's not going to see her turn 18, like that's her realizing like, 'F---, this is true. This is my destination.'"
