A 26-year-old man who allegedly jumped onto a Grab driver’s car outside St James Power Station has been arrested.

According to a statement from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the suspect was arrested for committing a rash act after police received a complaint at about 3am originating from 3 Sentosa Gateway on Saturday (5 May). He will be charged in court on Monday.

Yahoo News Singapore understands that the suspect is the same man seen in a video posted by Facebook user Belleiansa Xu on Saturday afternoon.

In the footage, which appears to have been taken from the dashboard camera of the vehicle, a man dressed in all-black is seen running up to the vehicle as it approaches him near the Envy Dance Club. As the vehicle stops, the man then jumps onto its bonnet and steps on its windshield before disappearing off-screen.

Xu claimed in the post that the Grab driver involved was his 72-year-old father and asked for help in tracking down the suspect. He also said that, following the act, the suspect’s friend had shouted, “We apologised already, what’s more (sic) you want?”

Xu added that his father had driven away to avoid a confrontation.
