A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found unconscious in Wiltshire, police have said.

Officers said the victim, in his 70s, was found unresponsive outside a property in Overbrook, Swindon, early on Friday.

He remains in a critical condition in hospital, Wiltshire Police said.

The force said the arrested man had been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Detectives said they would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen anything suspicious.

Anyone who may have driven past and has dashcam footage of the area or residents with doorbell recordings were also asked to contact police.
