Man charged with rape and manslaughter of woman who died in London park

A man has been charged with the rape and manslaughter of a woman in Southall.

Natalie Patricia Shotter, 37, died in Southall Park on July 17, 2021.

Her death was initially treated as unexpected while further enquiries were carried out.

Mohamed Iidow, 34, was arrested in connection with the incident on August 4, 2021.

He was charged with her rape and manslaughter on December 21 last year and appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on January 12.

Iidow, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Friday.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley.
