A man was found dead at the Fajar LRT Station early Friday morning (24 March). Police say the man fell onto the tracks and was run over by a train.

According to Ms Margaret Teo, SMRT’s Head of Corporate Marketing & Communications, station staff alerted the Bukit Panjang LRT Operations Control Centre at about 1am that a body was spotted on the tracks at Fajar LRT Station, after the last train in service left the platform.

The Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted immediately. SCDF sent a fire engine and an ambulance, which arrived soon after.

A Chinese male was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The police are investigating the unnatural death. SMRT says it is extending its full cooperation to the police during their investigations.
