Man dies after being struck by driver in Toronto

A man in his 30s has died after he was hit by a driver while walking in Toronto on Thursday afternoon, police say.

The collision happened in the area of Danforth Avenue and St. Dunstan Drive, east of Victoria Park Avenue, Toronto police say. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 2 p.m.

Paramedics rushed the man to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the vehicle remained at the scene.

Motorists should expect road closures in the area.
