Man in hospital after being stabbed in early hours

A 43-year-old man has been arrested after another man was stabbed in West Yorkshire in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police were called to Oakwood Drive in Hemsworth at 05:29 BST following the incident.

Officers said the injured man left the scene and made his way to the Premier shop in nearby Kinsley and then to hospital, where he is being treated for a stab wound and multiple slash wounds.

A number of crime scenes have been put in place around the area while enquiries are carried out.

Officers said the 43-year-old suspect they have arrested remains in custody and they are keen to speak to anyone with any information about the incident.
