Man quizzed in boat theft probe
A man has been arrested over the theft of a "high value" boat.
The vessel was taken from Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, on 27 June and subsequently located in Bristol.
Officers from the Cumbria and Avon and Somerset forces worked together to arrest a 32-year-old from Bristol and bring him to Kendal Police Station for questioning. He has been bailed while the investigation continues.
Police have advised boat owners to increase their security measures.
Insp Ross Woods, from the South Lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team, said his force is about to issue "a large number of tracking devices" to be hidden inside boats and trailers.
"These will be deployed in theft hotspot areas and in the boats and equipment which crime data tells us are most at risk."
