Mandisa’s Cause Of Death Revealed
The cause of death is now known for American Idol alumna Mandisa. The Grammy winner died of complications of class III obesity, according to an autopsy report obtained by TMZ. The medical examiner noted in the report that she weighed 488 pounds at the time of her death.
She passed away in April at her home in Nashville at the age of 47.

According to the report, Mandisa’s friends found her decomposed body at her home on April 18. The report found no evidence of trauma and a toxicology report found nothing abnormal. The manner of death was ruled natural.
Mandisa’s 2013 album Overcomer won a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
She was a contestant on Season 5 of American Idol and finished in the season’s Top 10. The following year she released her debut album True Beauty.
Her 2013 album Overcomer became a Christian radio staple with singles including “Stronger,” “Good Morning (feat. TobyMac)” and “My Deliverer.” The album went on to win the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
Over the course of her nearly 20-year recording career, she released five albums and a Christmas compilation.
