Mandy Moore Says Son Gus, 2½, Has No Interest in Watching “Tangled”: 'It Means Nothing to Him'

"He couldn't have cared less," Moore said of her older son not wanting to watch her 2010 Disney film

Mandy Moore's older son appears to be unimpressed with his mom's Disney-character status.

During an appearance Monday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress and singer said 2½-year-old August "Gus" Harrison has no interest in the fact she voiced the character of Rapunzel in Tangled.

"He couldn't have cared less," the Dr. Death star, 39, told host Jimmy Fallon of her son's disinterest in the 2010 animated musical film.

"He's like, 'You're not Lightning McQueen.' There's no Cars situation," she went on, noting Gus' preference for the Pixar film series and protagonist voiced by Owen Wilson.

"I have asked him several times. I'm like, 'You've seen Frozen now — do you want to watch Tangled?' He's like, 'No,' " Moore said, laughing. "It means nothing to him!"

Moore shares Gus, who turns 3 in February, with her husband Taylor Goldsmith, along with their 13-month-old son Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett.

On Thursday, Moore shared a photo from her recent trip to Disney Parks on Instagram — which had originally prompted Fallon's question, since she was holding Gus as she posed next to Rapunzel and the character's love interest Flynn Rider (voiced in the movie by Zachary Levi).

"Gus isn’t interested in Tangled and really couldn’t care less that mom and Rapunzel are 'close friends,' " Moore joked in the caption.

"Now if I knew Lightning McQueen, that would be another story 🤷‍♀️," she added. "Thanks for having us @disneyparks — you are always magic but seeing the world through Gus’s eyes is a whole new ballgame."

Moore noted in her Monday interview with Fallon, 49, that Rapunzel and the rest of the face characters at Disney Parks are "so solidly in character" that there was not even a "wink" or any hint of the fellow princess knowing Moore's affiliation with the role.

Earlier in the interview, Moore talked about the upcoming holidays and traditions she has established so far with her sons.

"We just moved, so we're sort of still figuring out what our roots are and cementing what our traditions are going to be," the This Is Us actress said.

One example that comes to mind is when Moore was growing up, she remembers eating only breakfast foods on Christmas Eve.

"We had breakfast for dinner on Christmas Eve, so I feel like I'm going to incorporate that for us," she said. "Pancakes, waffles, bagels, eggs, bacon — the whole nine yards. It was so much fun."
