Marriage of Datuk Stanley Augustin and Datuk Nika Gee formally dissolved

KUALA LUMPUR: The Family Court here has formally dissolved the marriage of former deputy public prosecutor (DPP) Datuk Stanley Clement Augustin and businesswoman Datuk Nika Gee Siew Yee. The pair had garnered public attention following allegations that Gee had been involved in a long-term illicit relationship with a former high-ranking politician. Lawyers S. Periasamy and Choo Dee Wei, who acted for Augustin and Gee respectively, confirmed that the court made the order this afternoon in relation to the mutual consent divorce, during proceedings in the chambers of judge Datuk Siti Mariah Ahmad. Neither Augustin, 65, nor Gee, 54, was present. The lawyers, however, declined comment on the content of Augustin's purported statutory declaration (SD) which implicates said high-ranking politician as being involved in an affair with Gee. Allegations of the illicit relationship emerged when blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin posted a picture of the SD on news portal Malaysia Today. The SD alleges that the affair between Gee and the politician began during the latter’s tenure as menteri besar and continued through his term as minister of two portfolios. According to the divorce petition filed in December 2014, Augustin and Gee were married on April 24, 2007. Augustin has three children from a previous marriage, while Gee has two, also from a previous marriage. Augustin served at the Judicial and Legal Services from 1982 to 2007, before serving as Bank Negara's head of prosecution until 2010. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
