Married At First Sight's Jackson explains Olivia split

Married at First Sight Australia alum Jackson Lonie has taken to Instagram to clear up why he and his ex-girlfriend Olivia Frazer broke up.

Lonie and Frazer got together in the ninth series of the show and actually said yes to each other. However, they recently broke up, with rumours circulating that Lonie dumped Frazer.

Now, Lonie has clarified that that wasn't the case, taking to his Instagram stories to do so. Someone asked Lonie if he "abandoned" Frazer and dumped her. Lonie denied this.

"Splitting up with someone isn't abandoning them," Lonie wrote. "Us splitting had nothing to do with the haters... We had just drifted apart."

Frazer has previously backed this up herself. She took to her own Instagram several weeks ago to deny that Lonie broke up with her.

"I understand people like to think that I got 'dumped' but it wasn't like that at all," Frazer said, as reported by the Daily Mail. "There's no 'juicy' story. There's no truth to the 'haha he dumped you' comments people say. It was a peaceful, joint decision."

Lonie and Frazer wed in the show, which aired earlier this year, but they broke up in August. The two posted a joint Instagram post announcing their decision to split up.

"After a wonderful 10 months together we have decided to go our separate ways. There has always been a lot of love in our relationship and there will continue to be as we transition into a friendship," the couple wrote.

"We have nothing but love and respect for one another, and no one is to blame for the end of this relationship. Simply a case of ‘almost perfect.' We hope you all can please show compassion as we navigate this privately."

However, rumours regarding the nature of their breakup began to spread, which prompted Lonie to take to Instagram later in August to clarify that they are "still friends" and on "good terms."

With this latest post, Lonie stands by that as he and Frazer deal with the reaction of fans and media to their split.
