Martin Lawrence addresses health concerns after “Bad Boys 4” premiere: 'Stop the rumors'

"I’m healthy as hell," the actor maintained after a clip from the film's Los Angeles premiere appeared to show him looking unsteady.

Martin Lawrence might be a "bad boy," but he’s in good health.

The actor, 59, raised serious health concerns online last week after a viral clip taken at the Bad Boys: Ride or Die premiere in Los Angeles appeared to show him looking unsteady and holding onto his costar, Will Smith, onstage. Lawrence took a moment to properly set the record straight in an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning on Tuesday.

“Now Martin, everybody’s talking [about] you on the balcony waving at people, [you’re] looking around, where you’re looking around? Were you looking around like, ‘Yo, this is massive?’” host Ebro Darden asked. “Because people took it like there was something wrong with your health.”

Instead, Lawrence explained that he was simply surprised by the crowd size at the event. “I was like, oh, this is rock concert stuff,” he teased. “What the hell is going on? I was like, for a movie?”

Darden then asked Lawrence for a second time if he had “anything you want to say to the people because they’re concerned about your health,” but the comedian shot down the speculation.

“I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands,” Lawrence said. “I’m blessed, you know? I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.”

He reiterated his clean bill of health once again at the end of the interview, declaring, “I’m healthy as hell. Stop the rumors!”

Lawrence has faced his own health issues in the past. In May 1996, he was hospitalized after running into a Los Angeles intersection while screaming. His publicist later told The Los Angeles Times that a doctor had found that he’d been suffering from “a case of complete exhaustion and dehydration” at the time.

In 1999, Lawrence was also in a three-day coma after collapsing due to severe heat exhaustion while on a run in his Los Angeles neighborhood.
