Marvel star Anthony Mackie's new series sets new record
Twisted Metal, the comedy series starring Marvel's Anthony Mackie, has set a new record for streaming service Peacock.
The post-apocalyptic action-comedy, which is based on the video game franchise of the same name, was released on the streamer last month, with all 10 episodes being dropped simultaneously.
As per Deadline, the series has become the "most-binged" comedy premiere on the service to date, with the average account reportedly watching three episodes in one sitting.

The series sees Mackie play amnesiac John Doe, a "smart-ass milkman who talks as fast as he drives". After travelling across a desolate wasteland, John comes across "savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road" as he seeks a better future.
Mackie is best known for his role as Sam Wilson in the MCU, which he will reprise in Captain America: Brave New World next year. The fourth film in the franchise, which is being directed by Julius Onah, recently completed filming.
Despite his role as Captain America, Mackie revealed that he originally wanted the role of T'Challa/Black Panther, which was eventually given to Chadwick Boseman.

"I'll never forget, Joe Russo said: 'Listen, so we're doing this movie. We want you to be in it," recalled Mackie. "We can't say what character you're playing or who else is going to be in it. Would you do it?' And that was it.
"I was like: 'You know what, I like y'all dudes. I'll do it. I'll go on this ride with you.' What other major comic book figure has enough of a presence to have his own movie? So when they hit me up and they were like: 'Yo, so it's Sam Wilson', I'm like: 'Really?'."
Twisted Metal is currently streaming on Peacock. Captain America: Brave New World has been officially confirmed. Meanwhile, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is streaming exclusively on Disney+.
