Marvel stars Scarlett Johansson and Owen Wilson are set to team up for a new Netflix movie.

Deadline reports that the romantic comedy will mark Nancy Meyers' highly-anticipated return to directing, after an eight-year hiatus from the industry since the release of the Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro comedy The Intern in 2015.

The Academy Award-nominated director, best known for iconic films such as The Holiday, The Parent Trap and What Women Want, has also written the rom-com.

The project, that has the working title Paris Paramount, sees ex-lovers reunite on a set as the filmmaking couple have to work together on a new movie and somehow put their personal history aside.

Other than the brief synopsis, very little is known about the new project that is reported to have a budget of around $100 million.

The Marvel stars will lead the star-studded cast that already has 355 star Penélope Cruz and X-Men actor Michael Fassbender on board.

In the meantime, Black Widow star Johansson will appear in Wes Anderson’s upcoming movie Asteroid City, which is rumoured to debut at Cannes Film Festival later this year.
