Skye P. Marshall has tied the knot!

The 38-year-old actress, who stars in the new CBS reboot of Matlock, married actor Edwin Hodge on Saturday, June 29, at Carondelet House in Los Angeles.

The couple tells PEOPLE their vision for their big day was "to host a cozy gathering" with all the people who are most important to them. They welcomed 122 guests, including celebrity friends Kathy Bates, Craig Robinson, Sophia Bush, Ashlyn Harris, Jason Ritter, Melanie Lynskey, Gina Rodriguez, Victoria Rowell and Cory Hardrict.

Skye and Edwin chose their venue — a 1920s-era Italian-style villa that was once the residence of a prominent L.A. architect — because they both have personal connections to it. She once worked there as a caterer, giving her behind-the-scenes insight into its workings at a wedding venue, and he recalled being captivated by Carondelet House's "romantic" ambience while attending a speakeasy event there seven years ago.

"Realizing the full-circle significance of choosing this venue was a very special moment for us," Skye says.

Fittingly, they settled on the theme of "speakeasy glam," focusing on a palette of warm earth tones to complement the venue's vintage charm. Wedding planner Rolanda Hardy of Vision Into Reality Events helped them bring their vision to life, with help from florist Teresa Eoff of Figure Eight Events.

Their ceremony, which was officiated by Edwin's brother Aldis Hodge, blended old traditions with personal touches. The couple exchanged handwritten vows and also jumped the broom. "It symbolizes a fresh start, the clearing of the past and the union of two families," Skye notes.

They also shared special dances with their respective mothers, Patricia Marshall and Yolette Hodge, in tribute to the "wholehearted and unwavering" support and love that the two women have always shown their children.

Edwin — who is currently starring in FBI: Most Wanted — walked down the aisle to "I Do" by Rotimi, while Skye made her trip to the altar to Craig Armstrong and Lana Del Rey's “Hotel Sayre” from The Great Gatsby soundtrack.

The bride turned up the glam for the occasion, wearing a Valdrin Sahiti cape gown fully embroidered with glittery crystals and pearls. With the help of her stylist, Ana Tanaka, and designer Susan Marquand, Skye says, the wedding look was transformed from " 'a dress' to my ‘ultimate dream dress' with custom alterations."

She later made a wardrobe switch-up ahead of the reception. "Because I love to dance, my gold foil-fringed signature Hervé Léger midi dress moved like a dream," Skye tells PEOPLE.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a plated dinner overseen by Très LA Catering. The menu featured New York strip steak, branzino and kabocha squash as entrées, accompanied by a selection of sides.

The dessert spread included Cake Monkey mini cakes, handcrafted chocolate truffles from Chocolate Therapy, vegan fōnuts, homemade brownies and chocolate-covered strawberries, as well as slices of the couple's two-tier triple berry wedding cake from Sweet Lady Jane.

When the dancing got underway — music was provided by DJ Malcolm of Brink Entertainment — Edwin and Skye shared their first dance as husband and wife to John Legend's "Nervous."

The day after the wedding, the couple shared their appreciation for their guests by hosting a poolside farewell brunch at their West Hollywood home. Due to their busy work schedules, they are putting their honeymoon plans on pause until Christmas.

"We know that we want to go somewhere exotic and hot, so we’re open to any fun suggestions," Skye says.

After moving "in similar circles" but never connecting for years, Skye and Edwin finally met when they both auditioned for — and landed — lead roles in the CBS medical series Good Sam in February 2020. After a series of pandemic-related delays, production on the show kicked off in October 2022 in Toronto, and the pair soon sparked "a strong bond and affection" for each other, Edwin says.

"We transformed our on-set romance into a real love story," he adds, noting that he appreciates how Skye "encourages me to push beyond my comfort zone."

For her part, Skye loves that Edwin encourages her to embrace new things. "He inspires me to gain hobbies that continuously activate new and creative ways for me to express myself," she explains.

As they embark on this new chapter of married life together, the couple tells PEOPLE they are looking forward to having many more adventures and exploring the world.

"Traveling and immersing ourselves in different cultures has been a shared passion since we first met," Skye says, adding, "Ultimately, we’re excited about our mutual growth, deepening love and expanding appreciation for each other and life."

They also plan to become "N.Y.C./L.A. bicoastal homeowners."

"We love attending open houses and are excited to plant our roots on both coasts," Edwin tells PEOPLE.
