Matt Rife canceled two comedy shows only hours before he was supposed to go onstage.

The 28-year-old comedian was set to perform two sets at Indiana University's Auditorium in Bloomington, Indiana, on May 29 but pulled out at the last second due to an "unexpected medical emergency," per a post on the venue's official Instagram page.

Rife later apologized to his fans on social media, writing that he was “so f---ing sorry.”

“Due to a last minute medical emergency, I have to reschedule our shows tonight (again),” he wrote on Instagram Stories and X (formerly Twitter). “I’ve been doing 40+ shows a month for a year and half and never had to do something like this.”

He concluded, “I hope you understand and I love you so much.”
