Meet Hachi.tech: Challenger’s new marketplace

Challenger

The catch is that it is a members-only marketplace

In yet another move to diversify beyond its brick-and-mortar retail offerings, Singapore-based tech retailer Challenger Technologies has launched a member-only e-marketplace Hachi.Tech.

Challenger sought the services of US-based global managed hosting and cloud services provider Datapipe — which provides IT management solutions including migration, maintenance for businesses using AWS or Azure — to build the platform.

For S$8 (US$5.8), Hachi members can enjoy up to 50 per cent off selected products using Hachi points as well as experience an accelerated rewards programme. For each product, they can earn up to 30X points. These X points will be converted to Hachi points.

For instance, with a S$200 (US$146) product that awards 10X points, members earn 2000 Hachi points, which can be used to offset $20 (US$14.6) on their next purchase. Every 100 Hachi points offset $1 (US$0.73) at the next purchase.

Existing ValueClub members can activate their one-time free Hachi account for the remaining duration of their ValueClub membership.

Hachi.Tech is optimised for mobile and will offer over 20,000 tech-lifestyle products including its in-house brand Valore. Shoppers can opt to have their purchases delivered or self-collect at any of its seven stores in Singapore. Delivery fee will be waived for orders above S$88 (US$64).

“Hachi.tech is part of Challenger’s plan to grow its retail presence in the virtual space, and we have made substantial investment in businesses to support our e-commerce strategy. To meet the ever shifting online shopping habits and expectations,” said Loo Pei Fen, Chief Marketing Officer of Challenger Technologies.
