Megan Prescott funding Edinburgh Fringe show by selling OnlyFans content
Former 'Skins' star Megan Prescott is funding her upcoming Edinburgh Fringe show by selling nude content on OnlyFans.
The 32-year-old actress and bodybuilder, who portrayed Katie Fitch in the teen drama, will debut her one-woman theatre show 'Really Good Exposure' at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer, but to fund it she is offloading her X-rated pictures.
For the first time since starting her OnlyFans during the coronavirus pandemic, Megan is planning to sell full frontal, head-to-toe nude photos on the platform.
She said: "I am immensely proud to use my own lived experience of these industries to highlight the inconsistencies of how we treat workers based on outdated societal stigma and our own internal bias.
"We've been inundated with portrayals of sex work in the media, often in projects that had absolutely no input from sex workers themselves.
"We've also seen a number of news stories and documentaries come out recently which highlight the ugly side of the acting industry, but actors aren't often able to speak out for fear of being ostracised and losing work.
"I’m delighted to be able to use my OnlyFans platform to raise awareness of my Edinburgh show. Plus... I really do need the money to pay for producing the show."
Megan will also sell 10 images of a limited-edition nude image, which is a nod to one of her most iconic 'Skins' pictures.
She added: "Even selling these limited-edition images will only raise half the money needed to put on a month-long show. "Creative careers are financially inaccessible to a lot of people, which is why many people in creative industries subsidise their income with sex work.
"Although many cannot talk about it, as the stigma surrounding sex work means potentially losing out on work as a result."
The star's one-woman show is partly inspired by her own experience of fame.
The play follows the story of Molly Thomas, a former child star whose fame peaked in her teens.
In the show, the audience first meet her later down the line as she realises her career has never matched the dizzying heights of her initial fame.
Standing on the edge of her 30s, Molly looks towards the adult industry to keep food on the table when acting work continually isn’t paying her bills.
