Meghan Markle made her second notable appearance on Thursday, joining a friend for dinner in Los Angeles.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, enjoyed some Japanese cuisine before the weekend when she and a pal dined at Asanebo Japanese Gourmet in Studio City.

During the outing, Meghan and Terry Wood, the executive producer of Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions, dined at a corner table in the establishment before going their separate ways.

"Meghan was kind" during the evening, a source tells PEOPLE of her visit, adding that she was in a great mood and ordered plenty of sake.

For the night out in L.A., Meghan wore a cozy grey sweater from La Ligne and dark denim skinny jeans as she held a large Goyard Bellechasse Biaude PM Bag. She also carried a navy coat with her as she rocked a pair of neutral flats.

Wood was also an executive producer on Meghan's successful podcast Archetypes. Meghan recently announced a new podcast deal with Lemonada Media, which will see the Duchess of Sussex host an as-yet-untitled new podcast. She and husband Prince Harry parted ways with Spotify last year.

Meghan's Japanese meal in Los Angeles came just hours after she stepped out for lunch with her wedding dress designer Clare Waight Keller at Cipriani Beverly Hills. Wearing a chic ensemble consisting of a black turtleneck paired with billowing black pants, complemented by a luxe brown coat and brown suede Cesta clutch, Meghan was all smiles as she left the restaurant alongside the British designer. She topped off the look with black aviator sunglasses — a style Prince Harry (an Apache helicopter-trained pilot!) often wears as well.

Last week, Meghan and Prince Harry, 39, spent some quality time in Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025's One Year to Go celebrations last week.

Outside of showing off a bold eyebrow look, enjoying a "magical" date with pal Michael Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato, and watching Prince Harry give curling a try during the mid-month trip, Meghan also enjoyed some entertainment with her husband at their stunning One Year to Go Dinner.

The Vancouver Convention Centre dinner marked the pair's final appearance at the 2025 Invictus Games countdown festivities, and wrapped a trip that the pair exclusively told PEOPLE was "meaningful."

“We loved being back in Canada, a place so meaningful to both of us. It was an honor to be welcomed by the Four Host First Nations, as we marked One Year To Go, together with Invictus coaches, competitors and families,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared this week.

“It filled our hearts to once again be surrounded by Canadian people, food and culture. We felt the Invictus spirit and excitement throughout Whistler and Vancouver, and are so grateful to all our hosts for organizing such a memorable visit. We’re counting down the days until we return!”

Elsewhere during their time in Canada, the couple were serenaded by Bublé himself last Thursday night as he took the stage to perform a song to the tune of Frank Sinatra's "My Way." Bublé wrote the song with Paul Anka, and explained to Prince Harry and Meghan how happy he was that “we can show Harry and Meghan how beautiful this place is."

“Who knew, dreams can come true, when life tells you, you’re far from finished / Nothing tames, Invictus Games, you play them your way / One man, life-changing plan, he does all he can, he’s a visionary / Our healing wishes for your dad / You’ve earned each day, the right to say, I did it my way,” Bublé sang.
