Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, made an appearance alongside husband Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, at an exhibition sitting volleyball match at Nigeria Unconquered on Saturday as part of celebrations of the Invictus Games anniversary.
Currently in the midst of a three-day private visit to the West African nation, the couple spent some time with members of Nigeria Unconquered, which is a community-based charitable organization dedicated to aiding wounded, injured or sick service members. Yesterday, the Duchess attended an event at Lightway Academy where they were greeted by a troupe of dancers. For the festivities, Markle wore a simplistic pair of metallic strappy sandals, which likely featured a strappy stiletto heel measuring around 4-inches based on her affinity for heels with towering height.
The Duchess has become known over the past decade for her pump and stilettos preferences. In April, she slipped into a pair of Purist 105 heels from Aquazzura, which featured a 4.13-inch heel, smooth tan leather uppers, a sharp pointed toe and a glossy high-shine finish.
About the Shoes
The Duchess opted to keep it more casual and comfy for her visit to Nigeria Unconquered on Saturday, arriving to the event in a pair of flat brown strappy sandals that were constructed in leather and featured slim brown straps that extended into her ankle. Once getting settled, Markle switched outfits, which included a shoe change. While the shoes couldn’t be fully seen due to the back being covered by her dress, the front part of the shoes were designed in a strappy metallic structure similar to those she wore Friday. Since the Duchess likes shoes with height, it’s likely this pair was finished with a 3-to-4-inch stiletto heel as well.
As for Harry, he opted for a pair of beige dress loafers that were crafted in suede material, a rubber sole durably-made for ample grip and traction, a round moc-toe design and a leather lining finish.

Strappy sandals can come in many different forms, including peep-toe designs, and have been praised for their versatility and ability to work well with a variety of outfits. Brands such as Burberry, Chanel and Christian Louboutin carry strappy sandals as a part of their footwear lineup, offering the style in many different iterations.
